Hedgehog Airways...

The Reception children would like to say a big THANK YOU to Mr McHardy and Mrs Shoar for coming in to talk about working for British Airways.  The children were very excited as they were checked in before flying to Paris!  They enjoyed learning about the different types of jobs and they asked great questions.  The highlights were 'trying the hats on', 'the biscuits', 'the snacks' and 'finding out what happens if there is a fire'!

There was a buzz in Hedgehogs for the rest of the day as the children took on the roles of the pilots and cabin crew: making play dough food and serving each other.  They also got to take home their passports and a little BA souvenir.   What a great day!

Year 4 residential

We're having a fab time learning how to light fires.

We are so excited!

Royal Wedding Party

Thank you to everyone who came to our Royal Wedding party in Foundation Stage on Friday afternoon.  The children had lots of fun wearing party clothes, playing circle games, exploring with their special people and eating the food!

Thank you to everyone who donated goodies!  Also, look out for our group photograph in the Henley Standard this week.

Royal wedding fun!

We have all had a great afternoon!

Exploring sounds in Badgers

Badgers class transformed into scientists today as we explored different sounds. During our investigations were able to create a variety of sound pitches by filling water bottles with different amounts of water,  see the vibrations made when hitting a drum by putting rice on the top and making pan pipes by cutting straws at different lengths. However, our favourite investigation had to be our telephone cups! By keeping the string very straight and tight, the results were amazing! We couldn’t believe how our voices travelled through the string. We even got very technical and managed to ‘add in calls’ by twisting our string together!

Egg art

This is 'an egg hatching' by one of the Hedgehogs

THE EGGS HAVE ARRIVED IN FOUNDATION STAGE!

We are all very eggcited (sorry!) about the arrival of our eggs.  The Hedgehogs have been busy writing signs to let everyone know how to behave around them.  We are hoping they will hatch very soon!  We will keep you updated...
