Red Kites have had a lovely day over in Wallingford today. The sun shone for us and we were able to spend most of the day outdoors, in and around the river and castle site.
We were history detectives in the museum; finding out all about the history of the town and the importance of the river and castle. We met with a historian called Steve who took us around the castle site. We even got to climb to the top of the Mott and saw some spectacular views of the town.
After a picnic lunch amongst the ducks and swans, Mr Hannaford came to tell us about measuring river flow and flooding and we looked at some of the historical flood lines on the bridge.
A great day was had by all.
