Mr Holdship kindly visited KS1 last week. The children really enjoyed hearing about Oxfordshires 'connection' to dinosaurs, as well as learning even more interesting facts about dinosaurs. They loved seeing the dinosaurs jaw and claws and other amazing fossils too . We certainly think a visit to Oxford Science Museum and to Woodstock Muesum are now a must! Many thanks again Mr Holdship, for a great morning .
Christmas Craft Open Morning
Tuesday 13th December
Watlington Primary School
You are invited to visit our school on Tuesday 13th December to participate in art and craft workshops from the Foundation Stage all the way up to Year 6.
Come and visit your child’s class – or see what goes on elsewhere in our fantastic school!
The doors will open at 9.15am and we will close the event with carols and mince pies in the school hall from 10.00 - 10.30am.
This event is open to any members of the school - or local – community. The more the merrier!
We look forward to seeing you then.
Just to inform you that our pupils will be returning slightly early today from the Bucks County Museum. We anticipate they will be back at school by approximately 3.20pm (subject to traffic).
Over the last few weeks, the Red Kites, Golden Eagles and Swallows have been looking at the book ‘Wonder’. We have been learning about Treacher Collins Syndrome and how it affects a the main character from the book, Auggie.
Treacher Collins is a syndrome that only affects the face. Most of the time the cheekbones don’t develop properly and this can make the eyes look ‘droopy’.
This Tuesday we had a visitor in Year 5 and 6 whose name is Jono Lancaster. Jono has TCS and has set up a charity to help other carriers get the operations they need. He travels the world to help children who cannot afford the treatment they desperately need. In assembly, Jono gave an inspiring speech about his life growing up with TCS. Years 5 and 6 have been having cake sales, the whole school have been collecting penny pots and on Friday we will all be dressing in blue to raise even more money for the charity.
Thank you to all of those who have already donated.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the parents who came to 'Join our Journey' this morning. We had lots of fun making stars, gliders and party hats.
If you didn't manage to make this one, then we would love to see you at one of the many 'Join our Journeys' throughout the year.
