Some of the year 5 and 6 children had the opportunity last week to go to the Oxfordshire book Awards. This was a fantastic event, where we got to hear from many of the authors and in many cases meet them at the signing afterwards. Neil in year 6 had the opportunity to introduce one of the authors to the audience and did fantastically. The school are once again taking part in the book awards this year and we look forward to reviewing many of the books on the 2016 long list.

A wonderful afternoon at the Oxfordshire Book Awards 2015 ...
We all like to feel special, don't we? And sometimes for writers that can be difficult. We work in isolation most of the time; we are now (through social media) more ...
Mr Attree and two of the year 6 children also went to the memorial for the 2 minutes silence on Wednesday, along with many other people from the town, to represent the school, whilst the other children held a minutes silence on the playground.

The children enjoyed this hands-on experience and it really helped them to relate to this part of our history.
We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Wyndham-Smith for her time.
